In 2024, Lloyds Banking Group are hosting City Walks in 12 cities across the UK! In 2023, 1,500 colleagues took part in a City Walk in their city, raising an incredible £200,000. We know that with even more participants in 2024 we can make a greater impact to support and end homelessness!

City Walks are being held from the 4th to the 14th of June 2024, in Brighton, Bristol, London, Newport, Chester, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Halifax, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh. All participants can register for either a 12 or 20 mile route around their city which will begin and end at your Lloyds Banking Group hub. Your walking route will be set by our Event Coordinators and distributed to all participants in the weeks leading up to your City Walk. We will also have Event Coordinators leading your walk, so no one should risk getting lost along the way!

After your walk, there will be a post event celebration back at your hub with food, drinks, entertainment and other fun festivities. All City Walks will depart from their hubs between 9:00am and 10:00am, and most participants will have completed their City Walk by 5:00pm.

All participants will be set the fundraising goal of £100. In order to reach this goal make sure to start fundraising early and tell all of your friends, family and colleagues about this challenge you are embarking on! You will be surprised how many people will be eager to support your cause. All Lloyds colleagues are also eligible for £500 of Matched Giving funds each calendar year.

You will be helping people like Michelle.

“This time last year I had no home. I couldn’t afford my rent anymore and I didn’t have any support, so I was forced out. I could afford a B&B for a couple of nights but then I ran out of options. So I’d go to this bus stop and the drivers would be really good to me – letting me onboard and always asking if I was okay. I just wanted to avoid the streets. The cold – it’s with you all the time."

"It’s hard to ask for help. But after six months of sleeping rough, I knew I had to. Looking back, it was the most important step I took. The first time I walked into Crisis, the people were so welcoming. They actually looked me in the eye. It’s funny, but that’s the kind of thing you really miss. Because on the street, you don’t talk to anyone.”
